Hymer B564 Lionheart A class motor home, the much coveted and very rare UK specification, with only 41000 miles, quite possibly one of the best designs of layout for 2+1 people in a small A Class motor home. The B564 Lionheart, is a very rare model, it was specifically produced in limited numbers for the UK market as far as I can find out around 100 vehicles were manufactured, most with the dinette and fabric cloth layout, and a handful with the'L' shaped lounge layout, it comes with all the usual Hymer refinements, plenty of storage, window blinds (including cab blinds) and double glazed, Heiki roof vent in the lounge and the bathroom, the bathroom is very comfortable, ALKO chassis with storage across the back underneath accessed from both sides, slide out locker on the nearside and the gas locker now utilised for more storage, with the addition of right hand drive and the near side habitation door, and electric steps on the nearside.
Being specifically for the UK market, unlike most A class RHD motorhomes that are simply a LHD body dropped on a RHD chassis the Lionheart body is a mirror image of a LHD so everything is in the correct place... That means the Drivers door is on the Drivers side and the habitation door is pavement side if in a RHD Country, Even driving on the continent the drivers door position means you don't have to climb over the passenger of exit the habitation door to fill up with fuel etc. 2 previous owners before myself... Right hand drive, 2800cc 5 speed manual Fiat Ducato chassis, Will be supplied with 12 months MOT (subject to asking price/offers) Great tyres all around Very high specification: Cream Vinyl and patterned cloth interior seating, including driver and passenger Captain seats, with the very rare'L' shaped lounge, Original table was removed by previous owner and lost, but I have acquired a new leg and if needed someone could fit a top and reinstate this, but I can see why it was removed as it makes life easier with a small fold up camping type table that can be used outside as well... This leaves the whole of the interior uncluttered, and you enjoy your meal or drinks with the panoramic view from the front of the cab. Both cab Captains seats have twin adjustable armrests and both seats also swivel to face the interior of the vehicle Fully carpeted throughout, which is in 3 pieces and removable. Full size shower room with separate show cubical.. Cassette toilet and sink with hot and cold water, cupboards etc 12v power point.. (Protective plastic still on many units) Hot and cold water, bathroom tap was replaced.. No Tv or aerial fitted, after all we wanted to get away from it all, the old style tv mount was removed from teh cupboard providing more storage, a flat screen could be fitted....
Inverter fitted 100w solar panel and appropriate controller fitted Reversing camera and dash screen fitted. Thatcham cat 1 immobiliser, with remote fob. Full height cooker, with large oven, separate grill, 4 burner hob, with glass hinged top. Truma gas hot water boiler, with the addition of a 240 volt heating element both thermostatically controlled... Hot air central heating (gets hot quickly) Fiamma wind out awning 3 metre.
New External 80 LPG tank, fitted on the chassis (extra paint applied for added protection when new), with filling point and controls on the driver's side of the vehicle, this can be used to cook, provide hot water heating when main not available, and power the fridge/freezer and BBQ, it comes with filling attachment for the UK and Europe, as a result of the tank being fitted under the vehicle, the usual locker used for two gas bottles is now free to use as extra external storage. BBQ point mounted in old gas locker Fiamma Bike rack for 2 x bicycles. New front Cross member fitted (as everyone knows these rot on Ducato based MH's) this was given several coats of hammerite paint but could benefit from a squirt of waxoil inside... Full Service at 40,000 miles inc New Cambelt + pulleys New Front bearings (these are a bugger to fit as they need a big press) New rear brake pipes and Brembo cylinders and new shoes Probably missed some stuff..... The good - superb fully equipped motorhome that can be used totally off grid, we would often pull into a small town and park up and cook lunch or tea, and yet when parked up would still provide a superb home from home, we would put up wind breaks and make out own little private area and just spend the time outside...
The bad, there are a few faults, one roof skylight is broken but I have one to replace it and will do if I have time.. Yes some faded plastics and a few bits of unglued trim.. But nothing that looks bad that a good clean and some glue could not sort.. A few scrapes and dings but you would have to look closely to see them.. The step was left down when we drove off site and caught a traffic cone so it's slightly twisted, it could be taken off and sorted, but never been an issue.
Some wooden panels replaced in the wardrobe and some wear marks/scratches in bathroom.. I would have a look at whether the leisure batteries and inverter could be placed under the habitation floor and accessed from inside the van thus freeing up storage space. Not that it really needs doing... I would also fit cruise control especially if traveling long journeys across Europe.... Probably get it steam cleaned underneath and waxoiled or such...
And finally something like a Diamond bright polish... All of which someone could DIY.. Then it would probably be like new...We used this when my daughter was very young to travel through Europe and have driven via Germany and the Swiss alps to Rome and through France to Valencia, and never missed a beat, providing a commanding view of the road and being so high up a wonderful experience for my daughter especially travelling over the Alps... As well as several short trips around the UK.... There are very few signs of age, clearly as the van is not new, but honestly it is not far off, everything works as it should, the interior is pretty much unmarked, although the plastics in the bathroom have discoloured because of ultraviolet degradation (which is normal in motorhomes of this age). Other than some slight fading on the decals, the exterior is also pretty much unmarked.
I have a Safari room that fits the awning this has been used 4-5 times and can be put up by one person and if staying for a week or more really is superb, we loved it. Awning net shades I have mains cables, adapters, testers all sorts Water and waste containers a new spare refrigerator cooler unit (these are almost unobtainable and a Hymer fridge freezer is a specific size).Silver Screen Insulation screen cover. Awning tie down strap, water hose for filling tank, various other bits and bobs My daughter is older and likes camping and I have a small camper van and a roof tent so we have many options... I'd Love to keep this but we just don't get the opportunity to do long trips which is where it comes into it's own.... Collection subject to mutual agreement.
