Welcome to the sale of Terry the campervan. We bought the van in October 2017 so that we could drive into Europe and live in it in the Alps over Christmas and New Year.

We bought it in London from the chap who had carried out the conversion from a work van into a campervan. The first thing we did was the long drive from London to Edinburgh via the Lake District. When we got to Edinburgh we booked it in with Mercedes specialists Klasse Series Automotive to check it all over and prepare it for our long trip away over winter. The following work was carried out (when the mileage was at 139,584) with invoice to prove. New front brake pads and discs. Installation of 2nd leisure battery. We kept the van in Edinburgh, doing a few trips round Scotland before making the journey back down to London. Before setting off from London into the French mountains, we made a few more tweaks, namely.

Swapping out the propane gas tank for butane so it wouldn't freeze in the low temperatures - the van comes with both connectors so you can either keep the butane or swap back to propane. Tighten the sliding door latch as it was having trouble staying closed, but all secure now. New comfy mattress made in a custom size to fit the bed. Addition of rear curtains to cover the back doors and front curtains to separate the cab. We then drove the 800 miles from London to Meribel and went from there to various other resorts all over the French and Italian alps, sleeping every night in the van.

We wanted to keep the van for some summer trips too but work commitments have meant that unfortunately we have decided to sell on so someone else can enjoy taking it on adventures. We just put it through an MOT so comes with 12 months, expiring 06/06/19. Here are the good points and specs. Full MOT (only needed a few bulbs, a rear brake caliper and 2 front ball joints). Fully serviced recently as above.

Big folder of documents and recent receipts. Drives super smoothly and is surprisingly quick.

Webasto diesel water heater (runs off same diesel as engine but will cut out at 1/4 tank so you don't wake up the next morning unable to start the van). Fans at bed area as well as lounge to keep everything nice and warm. Privacy/tinted windows all round (except toilet). TV with DVD player built in.

9 solar panels on roof to charge leisure batteries when you're not going anywhere. Thetford electric flush toilet which is built into shower tray (although shower is not fitted as they can cause damp - but included should you wish to fit). Two skylight roof windows with blinds (one above lounge, one above bed).

Fresh water tank under high level double bed. Good lighting all round for dark nights. Fridge which can be switched from either mains supply or leisure batteries. Loads of storage for plates, food and clothes above kitchen and lounge area. Loads of storage in the boot under the bed (access from rear doors and also the hatch below the bed from inside the van).

Cool front bumper - used to be worth a small fortune back in the day. Drive around looking like you're in a band when you're not really in a band. There's probably a lot more that has slipped my mind, but that should be most of it! And here are the few bad points.

Has a few'work van' related marks as you'd expect from a conversion of this nature - a few dings/scrapes on the outside and a few marks in the cab although nothing horrendous. A French man also decided to try and squeeze past us on a narrow road which left a bit of a scuff but again isn't hugely noticeable.

The driver's seat shows wear and tear so we've just put blankets across the front 3 bench seats in the cab. I think that's about it.
